Is it possible to dial onhook using the cisco 7912g phone ?
Some docs say it is possibe, but when I try it on a device, I need to lift the reciever before the call is attempted.
I am running version CME 4.3 and my 7912g is registered to it.
I also have UCC running and a TAPI connection, and cant seem to dial with the UCC client.
The error on a ephone detail debug is that "Cant make a new call unless handset or headset is offhook"
The reason I am posting this, is because on the CME guide for the 7912G phone, it says the onhook dialing is possible...
So have I mis-configured something ?
Thanks

7912 does not have a real speaker phone - it only has a "monitor" mode for on-hook listen only. The assumption on an outbound call is that the caller must be able to talk, and this requires the handset mouth piece to be active. There is no microphone in the 7912 phone base unit.

Good explanation, fact is that these phones can dial from on-hook during normal operation.
The idea is that you dial, listen or enter tones until the desired party answers, at which point pick-up the handset.
It is somewhat a limitation not to be able to do the same from a PC-initiated call.
