Hello all - so strange issue here which didn't start after upgrading to CUCM 8.6. Everything in the environment works just fine except for users who daisy chain(phone to wallport and docking station into phone) into docking stations with 7961's. Whenever they shut down their laptop the phone errors out and displays "Ethernet disconnect".
The user states that the phone doesn't regain connectivity until they turn their laptop back on however I've tested with a docking station and a 7961 daisy chained and after powering down the laptop the phone does go into a Ethernet disconnect but after around 5-10secs it will re-register to CUCM with no issues.
so the question is what does the laptop powering down have to do with the phone not being able contact CUCM? Because the phone is plugged into the wallport and the laptop is plugged into the phone. I assume that the Ethernet disconnect is from the port that the laptop is plugged into but again the phone shouldnt lose connection . I guess upgrade firmware?
