8821 flashing red

I've got two 8821s flashing red, won't turn on.  On the USB Charger for 3 days.  Nothing in End User or Administrator Guide about flashing red LED indicator at top. blinking red.  8821 is new out of box, never been registered or turned on before.  I did turn it on earlier and got a low battery on screen warning/wallpaper etc and power it off to charge.

Do you have working 8821 phones? If yes, swap the batteries. Also, here are links about charging and a bug. Hope it helps.
