8831 speaker volume

Hi

We have a Cisco CP-8831 which is registered with CUCM System version: 10.5.2.18900-15

Problem:

Although he can  turn the volume of the speaker up and down using the keypad on the 8831, we cannot turn the volume low enough so that we cannot hear the call (mute the built-in speaker of 8831)

Is there a way of doing this?

Thanks

To the best of my knowledge there is no way to mute/disable the speaker on an 8831.  You can only turn the volume low, but not completely off.  Your other option is to put the call on hold, assuming that you do not have MoH enabled on the device.

Hi Andrew,

Thank you

I was hoping that the speaker volume could be muted but a we are using it as a hub for remote delegates  to communicate as apposed to attending the board room while the lock-down is in place and hence wanted to know if the volume on the speaker could be muted as we don't want none attendee to over hear the conversation in the office.

Thank you for your assistance - much appreciated

To get extra of a experience for the way this works SpeakerTrack 60 has a diagnostic mode that shows how this works. Below is a screenshot of diagnostic modearticle became on and a face is detected but no audio in shape.

Speaker Track is not an 8831, and as such does not work in this situation.
