9951 POE Requirement

Can anyone tell exactly how much Power required for 9951 Phones with Camera. if you can send any link that would be helpful.

Hi,

You can use 9900 series along with camera with 802.3af  as per the link below link.

if you refer table 2.1 , it says 802.3at  for external add-on devices.

Hi Aman,

Thanks for your quick response.

Customer is having hp 29xx series poe+ switches , 9951 phone is booting up but the camera is not working it giving error "UNABLE TO POWER THE ACCESORY" . When i access the hp switch it showing 6.4 watts for 9951 phone. and needs to exactly tell the customer how much power it require to support phone+camera.

Hi,

Datasheet of 9900 says that it is a Class 3/class 4 device .Class 3 device requires  15.4W under 802.3af.

You can give a try with 802.3af.

You'll need to force the HP switch to push 20.0w PoE to the port.  

Make sure the HP switch still has ample power left or has excess power to push 20.0w.
