Bulk adding a speed dial?

Hello all,

Just wanted to check something here.  I know that I can use BAT to update our phones with a new speed dial line.  Isn't it possible that if I add the speed dial to the phone template that is in production that it will get pushed out to all of the phones that are currently using that template?

Just wanted to see if there is an option to using the BAT tool.

Please let me know if you do.

Thank you.

Rgds,

No, templates are used when you add the phone, not when they're already in the system.

I think if you have a phone that has all the speed dials you are trying to add. It looks like you can use BAT. If you go to BAT > Update phones > Query, and select all phones, I see an option under "Assign Speed Dials" where you can add all speed dials based from a device phone template. (this is based on UCM 8.5)

Not sure if this will fulfill what you are looking for.

Hope this helps.

Thank you both!

I have one additional question.  What will happen if I use the BAT tool the way that Yhung suggested and there is a speed dial already programmed on the phone I want to push the new speed dial out to?

Will it just error out or will it overwrite the existing speed dial?

Can you please let me know if you do?

Thank you again!

Rgds,

Vicky

Vicky,

When I see the screen, it leads me to believe it will replace existing speed dials, but I haven't actually used this option yet, I can try this on Monday, if you don't have an option to test.

While I was looking, I also found this document that might be helpful to you:
