Busy tone after off hook

Hello, I have network with two callmanager_5.x in cluster and two voice_gateway Cisco 2821, connected to the PSTN via E1 ports.

Could you please tell me how to configure ccm and gateways for the following thing - when internal and external call is dropped by one of the subscriber (internal and external), the second subscriber hears busy tone.

Hi,

Do you really mean the busy settings on the phones.

Is the user using their phone and a second call comes in the user here call waiting.

Alex

Hello Alex,

No, I mean the situation when two subscribers finish talk, and one of them puts handset down, then the second subscriber hears busy tone (no matter if it internal call within network or it is external call to the pstn). Now after finishing conversation call just drops.

Im sorry, there is a mistake in the title. It should be Busy tone after ON hook, i.e. when the conversation ends.

Hi,

Had a quick test of this in my lab.

If the Cisco phone hangs up my pstn caller hear Number unobtainable tone on the pots phone.

If the PSTN pots phone hangs up the cisco phone just clears.

I think this is due to the sccp signalling from the CUCM.

I can not think how to change this behavior.

Sorry

Alex.

And what about call between cisco phone and cisco phone within one cucm lan ? Is there any way how to "enable" busy tone after conversation in cucm configuration ?

And about external calls: i'm not certanly sure if pots station sends busy tone via isdn to the gateway, cucm and then to the cisco phone. If so, maybe there is some configuration of gateway to make this thing work....

Mike

Hi Mike,

Ip phone to IP phone.

It does not matter whether the caller or called hangs up both phones just clear the call.

This is due to the SCCP signalling.

Alex.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the answer!

And what about IP phone to PSTN phone call ?

Mike

Hi Mike,

Sorry for the delay.

IP phone to PSTN

Speech path is good

IP Phone hangs up

IP phone simply clears down

PSTN hears "Number Unobtainable Tone" (NU tone)

I am based in the UK hence the NU tone

The NU tone is from the PSTN network not the gateway
