Call Manager Backup

Can anyone explain the detailed steps for doing a Backup of Call Manager..

Can u let me know if there willbe a downtime required for Backup.

Also where do i see that the Records are growing in Size

If you are talking about BARS backup ...there need not be any downtime as you schedule it during off production hours like 1 am in night (since it causes cpu spike )
