Caller ID for Redirected calls

Hi

We have CallManger v8 running along side our existing ISDX network and we are slowly migrating across the extensions. The two systems are linked by two DPNSS/QSIG links. We've now reached the point of putting our 1st E1 trunk to the PSTN. Outbound calls are going the 1st choice route of the new trunk, with the ISDX links as second and third choices.

So far this is working fine, except for when a VOIP extension forwards their calls to a mobile. If a call to the redirected number is external to our voice Network, the incoming callers ID is presented to the mobile as the Default number for the PSTN trunk.

Now doing a debug I can see the problem. The 1st choice route, via the PSTN Route group apppends the area code to the Caller ID (we use 6 digit extensions). This is fine for calls originated on the CM & ISDX networks, but for redirected external calls to mobiles it's appending the area code to the external number( for example, another Mobile number). What I don't know is how to get around this? Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Cheers

Are you using MGCP or H323 ?

Hi Paolo

Thanks for replying. We are using MGCP.

With MGCP, you can only configure translation rules on the CM.

That may be more limited than doing the same on the gateway when using H.323 or SIp.
