Hi, I am after modifying my set up for the remote locations. I have over 50 sites, each has its own gateway and have very few handsets per site. Currently I am using an H323 Gateways with 4 ISDN channels. However I wish to change it to save money by reducing the remote gateways having 2 channels and any further outgoing calls over 2 to go across the WAN to break out through the Head Office Gateway which has more than enough channels (also an H323 gateway).
However when setting up the 2 route groups (one for local gateway and the other for HQ gateways)the calls fail if I disable the ISDN channels on the local gateway.
However when routing calls from the remote location direct to the HQ gateways then the calls go through succesfully.
Hope I have explained myself well and someone could help?
Darren.

Sam,
I am disabling the channels on the ISDN gateway interfaces by issueing the shut command on interfaces BRI2/0 and 2/1.
Regards,
Darren.
