Hi all
I'm investigating a client issue with CIPC, we have deployed a CUCM 8.0 solution with CUBE.
CUCM <-> SIP Trunk <-> CUBE <-> SIP service provider.
Phones use SCCP and are fine, CIPC calls internally are fine, the issue is CIPC calls externally via the CUBE either inbound or outbound. If you call outbound, you hear ring back, but when the PSTN phone answers, the call fails, the same inbound. Now this suggests a CODEC mismatch, but everything is tied down to G711ulaw.
However looking at the trace files I can see an error as the CUCM attempts to initialise a transcoder and an MTP resource which in theory shouldn't be required. I've added both a hardware and software resource to the media resource group list that the SIP trunk and CIPC use, but still fails.
I'm planning to take a sniffer trace and additional traces of failed calls, but thought I'd drop a discussion incase anyone has faced and subsequently resolved this?

Hi Andy,
Make sure that the 'Optimize for Low Bandwidth' setting is unchecked in CIPC. This will hardcode the codec to G729. It can be found under: Preferences > Audio
