Cisco 2821 Compact Flash

I am wondering about using non-Cisco Compact Flash in a 2821 router. I have read posts where people have used for than the Maximum: 256 MB. I have a 2811 that runs fine with 256MB non-Cisco CF, but wondering what would happen if I added more, maybe 1GB. Will it only recognize up to 256MB?

Any ideas?

You might get a better answer by moving this to the Routing & Switching, forum, but I've put larger non-Cisco cards in routers, and not had any problems.

But as usual, YMMV.
