I am try to use the 562 headset with the mult source base and when I hook up both the phone and computer, the phone turns off. I have model CP-7841 desk phone. If one source is plugged up (either the phone or computer) there is no problem. The problem happens when both the phone and PC are both plugged in.

Was there a resolution to this problem as we have the same issue with the Cisco 561/562 headsets with the 7841 model phones

There is a bug for 78XX phones with a 560 series multibase.

The workaround is to use a POE adapter to power the phone.

Hi. My phone just started having this problem after working with the headset for months. Can you please explain how the POE adapter should be used to get around the problem?

I had similar issue with Cisco 562 headset and 7965 phone. The phone would power off when headset was connected. Issue was the USB cable connecting to the Lenovo PC. If that cable was left unplugged phone would work. Using an AC adapter on the phone fixed the issue.
