Yes it can work, but you have two problems, if not more.
First, to download the SIP files, you need a support contract. For a poe, is not very expensive, but it can be complicated to obtain.
Second, the configuration as standalode device is cumbersone, requiring editing files on a tftp server.
For this reason cisco phone are not really a good choice to work with tisp. Anyway, if you are willing to work around the problmes, your best source of information is voip-info.org, just search 7941.
