I am having a problem with a Cisco 7970G VoIP phone...when I power it up the mic button flashes red, then the green speaker button comes on for about 10-15 seconds. After that the speed dial buttons start cycling, at first the top two buttons flash orangish-red (one at a time) and then the buttons just start flashing green repetitively one at a time from top to bottom.
The phone display illuminates and shows the Cisco logo with a box in the lower right corner with a check mark in it. The display never advances and the speed dial buttons just alternately flash green until I unplug the phone.....seems like the boot cycle might be corrupted.
Can anyone confirm?

Your phone is trying to re-load firmware.
When connected to a CM or CME it would re-initialize itself.
You can also do that with the firmware files and a DHCP/TFTP server like tftpd32.
