Cisco 7975G with Asterisk

wkunice
Level 1
Level 1

I need to setup two 7975G phones to run SIP communicating with an Asterisk PBX server (connected on the same network).  I have the phones connecting to the server via DHCP, and they have downloaded and updated their firmware.   I just need to setup Asterisk correctly to enable them to make SIP calls.  Any pointers would be very appreciated.

Regards,

W.

The phones boot up, get an IP address, sync time with NTP, then they show 'Registering'. I do a tcpdump and don't see any attempt to contact Asterisk.

I presume this is the Asterisk box?

This value is incorrect.  Change this to 1.

Where did you get this original file from?  There are some important tags that are missing.  For one thing, tags related to NAT settings are missing.

Go to Settings > Status > Status messages.  What error messages appear?

Gets the correct time and date always means the config file was downloaded correctly, HOWEVER, the config file contains some tags which are invalid.

Yes 10.0.0.1 is the asterisk box.

Can I get a copy of the 'right' template for the 7975G using SIP?

Thanks for the info, I will test it.

The error messages show it can't find a DNS server ( i don't have dns running on 10.0.0.1) and it can't update the locale.

I can't remember where I got the original copy of the config file.  I just searched for 7975G and Asterisk and used one I found ... sorry.

Hello,

I am also having a "Registering"problem on my 7975.  Firmware SIP75.9-4-2SR1-1S was completed okay, however I do not have the locale files, so when my conf.xml file loads I get the locale error, on my status message.  I have a FreePBX 13 server on a local 192.168.10.105 address.  The 7975 has Services working, NTP updates just fine, I flush the old config when loading the new one.

However, I notice that in Setting - Sip Line, there is the proxy address showing but "Proxy Port" (Option Number 6) is blank on all instances, even with the **# function I can not get into it to put in a port number.

I have tried a number of different combinations and am starting to wonder if the cop.sig file might have been compromised?  Or could it be the fact that I did not get the locale update?

My FreePBX has a default bind port of PJ_CHAN_SIP on 5060 and CHAN SIP at 5160

Here is the conf.  I almost have it memorised I have seen so many different .xml on the web!

NAT should be disabled.

Proxy XML tags (all of them) is incorrect.  It should be USECALLMANAGER.

Sample of working SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml files can be found HERE.
