Hi,
I got a weird issue with our Cisco 9971 phone.
When a call is received by the 9971 it displays the caller id, however when we transfer the call to another person, only the caller ID of the 9971 is transferred, not the originating caller id.
All our other 7960/70/71 phones we can transfer a call with blind transfer or regular transfer and the originating callerID shows up.
Are there any settings for the 9971 that we can change to enable the transfer of the originating caller id?
Please let me know as this is becoming frustrating for some of our users.
Thanks
S.

Hi,
You are running into bug CSCsz89579.
B>Symptom:
Redirected Number is not displayed during Callforward case on RT phone
Conditions:
When We enable the following options in CCM during call forward case for RT phones (9971,9951), When the forwarded call is received by the 9971,9951 phones, the redirected number, caller number, Dialed number is not displayed. Instead it displays only the caller number.
When we enable the redirected number it should display the forwarded number during the ringing phase Of RT phones. In other IP phones (7961,7975) its working fine.
Because of this there is no indication for the user to know whether call is forwarded by some other User during the ringing phase itself.
Workaround:
none
Fixed-In
9.1(0)MN0.160
9.2(1)UC1.8
9.1(1)MN1.11
9.1(0)MN0.175
9.1(1)MN1.12
9.1(0)PS0.16
9.1(1)ES1
9.1(0)SSH8
9.1(0)SSH9

Hi,
I upgraded the firmware to 9.2.1, and it has improved some, but the main problem of the phone not passing the originating callerID seems to be persistent. Payal, you mention you are enabling some specific options, but not which ones.
Could you elaborate on these please.
Please let me know, thanks.

What's odd then is that the 7971's pass it just fine .. just the 9971's/99XX that have the issue.
