cisco ip phone 7911 language change

Hi All,

I have a CM 7.1 configured with around 60 devices 7911 model.

And I all them acctually are with menus in english language and I need to change it to other language.

How do I change it ? Is on CM ? Or have some guide to change it

Can somebody help me ?

Hello Antonio,

I hope you are doing  great,

I would like to let you know that you will need to do this:

1. Download the locale.

2. Install the locale.

3. Restart tftp service.

4. Change locale on the ip phones.

5. Restart the IP phone.

Also if you tell me the language you are  trying to install I will try to find it.

I want to change to portuguese-portugal.

How do I can install the locale file ?

Do I need to change the locale on each telephone ? Or it can be done from the CM ?

Do u know if exists some guide for that ?

Many thanks for your help and sorry to answer so late. Few things running in this meantime but now I had to come back to this subject.

I got to download the locale file as cm-locale-pt_PT-7.0.1.3000-1.cop.sgn on that link you sent me.

Now how do I must handle with it ? Follow my doubts about the steps !

1. Download the locale. -------------------done !

2. Install the locale. -------------------------how to do that ?

3. Restart tftp service. ----------------------ok easy !

4. Change locale on the ip phones. ----how to do that ?

5. Restart the IP phone --------------------ok  easy !

Do I need change it phone by phone or do it have some bulk procedure to change in all ip phones ?

Hi Antonio,

   To install the locale file, you'll have to go at OS Administration > Install Upgrade. To upload the locale file to CUCM, you'll need a SFTP or FTP Server. If you need more details about installing locale file, please ask for, but the process is easy and quickly and you can follow this guide: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/cucos/7_1_2/cucos/iptpch7.html#wp1180342

   To update the locale for phones, you can do a Bulk at CUCM Administration screen. Select all phones you want to change the locale and mark the Field for User Locale and Network Locale to the new available option for Portuguese PT.

I think i did a mistake found cm-locale-pt_PT-7.0.1.3000-1.cop.sgn  file but this file is not correct for UCM version 7.1.30000-1 right ?

Other problem is if go try find it on cisco.com in the follow link http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=282421166&flowid=5328&softwareid=282074333&release=7.1.(3.3000-1)&rellifecycle=&relind=AVAILABLE&reltype=all

I can´t find  file for  this version, so what can I do ? can I use 7.1 (5.1000-1) newest locale file version ? what is my option now ?
