Is the Cisco 8821 Wireless IP Phone compatible with CME 8.5? We are a small business and don't need a complex phone system but really like the 8821 for wireless applications.

No, it is not, according to the data sheet, 10.x and above, the CME docs does not list it, so it's likely it's only supported with fast track support right now.
