The typical way this has been tackled in CM 4 is by utilizing auto answer feature and speed dials. So, assume you have 2 phones A and B, and both need intrcom to each other, you would configure them as following:
Phone A:
Line 1 - regular DID
Line 2 - intercom DN set for auto answer
Speed 1 - speed dial to phone B line 2
Phone B:
Line 1 - regular DID
Line 2 - intercom DN set for auto answer
Speed 1 - speed dial to phone A line 2
