Hello,
I have recently purchased 15 CP-8851 IP phones, and need to configure them for use with Asterisk.I've read a rumor that these phones can't be flashed to the 3PCC firmware from the CUCM firmware (enterprise firmware), but I cannot (and could not) find a version of the phone with the 3PCC firmware installed already. So, now I have 15 phones, all running sip88xx.10-3-1-20, which don't obey 3PCC XML configuration files. Having spent a great deal of money on these phones, I'd love to reach a solution ASAP. Can somebody please confirm or debunk this rumor, and point me in the right direction?

Hi,
To get 3PCc on an 88XX you need to purchase the proper SKU. After you install an enterprise firmware, you cannot revert to the third-party call control firmware.

I have seen this thread, but I fell there MUST be a way to do this. There is no SKU listed for 3PCC, and I cannot find anywhere to buy phones with this firmware. I would talk to support and figure it out, but I require a service contract (and don't have one).
Is it possible for you to dig a little deeper and tap into some Cisco resources to see if there's a way, or a different SKU? I have no clue where to go from here, or I wouldn't ask for more help. Thanks in advance!

I noticed this SKU in CCW:
CP-8851-3PCC-K9=
Cisco must have heard your plea :)
