I have a requirement to bring SIP trunks into an IP solution. The client wants to convert to PRI until the feel comfortable with SIP as a direct termination strategy. Can CUBE convert to PRI? Then later provide direct SIP without the TDM/PRI conversion. What model would be accomplsih this goal? Anyone try this strategy?

Sure IOS can do it. Technically this isn't CUBE since it is a VoIP to POTS dial-peer scenario. Any time you order carrier services such as AT&Ts IP Flex and request a PRI handoff this is exactly what the carrier is doing. The same provider-facing considerations should apply as you would normally do with CUBE though. Firewall, ACLs, sip-ua registration, etc.

Thank you. I know that IOS and routers can be used to do this. I also know that IAD's are regularly deployed for that purpose. What I am interested in knowing is can the CUBE product be repurposed for that application? Specifically can you put VICS in it. In this way we can later convert to a SIP handoff without chaing out equipment? Does this make sense?

CUBE is just a software feature of IOS. In the scenario you're describing you do not utilize the CUBE feature. You're still welcome to purchase it upfront and just use it later. Sure you can add VICs/VWICs with or instead of CUBE.
