Dear All,

We have cucm 8.6 with dns configured.

Customer wants to change the DNS IP address.A it is 8.6..we have to rehost the license.

I want know what will be the impact if the DNS IP configured in cucm is not reachable.

It is not a secure cluster. But ITL is there.

Will there be any impact on the phones. We also have jabber in this cluster.

Please help with your inputs.

If all you are going to do is change the IP of the DNS which you use, that will not affect the licensing or anything else (aside from a restart of the NIC)

If you are changing the domain, then yes, you'll be forced to re-generate all the certificates to match the new FQDN

Thanks for the reply.

I read post in support forum that, prior to version 9, license MAC is composed of Hash value of some parameters including the primary DNS server for the virtual appliance.
