Hi Vijay

Yes , that is the first thing you need to make sure you have connevtivity to the avaya side.

Also enable options ping on CUCM SIP trunk for the avaya SM ip address. You can do a trace from CUCM to avaya side because ping is sometime disabled on some devices in network.

You can do a packet capture on CUCM to see what messages are you receiving from avaya but first you need to make sure you atleast have connectivity.

Thanks

status Reason Local=2 (local SIP stack is not able to create a socket connection with the remote peer).

So you need to make sure connectivity is up between one side to another.thanks

Reason code itself suggests CUCM cannot create socket connection to remote avaya ip.

Did you take the trace to avaya ip?

On Sip trunk configuration you can enable options ping .Also you can set up Packet capture on CUCM to see what error message are you getting.

Below process.

Hi Vijay,

Can you get SIP call traces when making call from Cisco to Avaya, it will further help in troubleshooting.

Hi,

I would start by checking the set up from both ends looking at the Cisco tested interoperability sitehttp://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/solutions/enterprise/interoperability-portal/networking_solutions_products_genericcontent0900aecd805b561d.html

Then may something like

From the list
