Hi Guys

Can anyone please verify me the following translation

DID range 4227100-4227599

Ext ranges: 7100-7599

OUTBOUND

voice translation-rule 1
rule 1 /^71/ /42271/
rule 2 /^72/ /42272/
rule 3 /^73/ /42273/
rule 4 /^74/ /42274/
rule 5 /^75/ /42275/
!

INBOUND
voice translation-rule 2
rule 1 /^42271/ /71/
rule 2 /^42272/ /72/
rule 3 /^42273/ /73/
rule 4 /^42274/ /74/
rule 5 /^42275/ /75/

I think it would create a loop? Please correct if I can make sure it wont create a loop

Looks good to me,also you can test it via " test voice translation-rule 1 XXXX"

You just need to make sure they are applied appropriately in outbound and inbound dial-peer/direction.thanks

Thanks guys for the input

Just to clarify , I am yet to test this in production , just wanted to tweak my translation to anything useful

I really appreciate your inputs

THanks

Your rules are correct however they can/should be corrected as below to ease administration:

voice translation-rule 1
 rule 1 /^7\(...\)/ /4227\1/

voice translation-rule 2
 rule 1 /^4227\(...\)/ /7\1/

I strongly recommend you to go through the below guide in order to understand how all this work:

https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/31816/custom-made-guide-translation-rulesprofiles-and-some-common-uses

Note: You can always test the rules yourself on the router by simply using below command:

test voice translation-rule <rule number> <number>

....

Read again my post, it had been very well edited after I first wrote that they will not work to frame my point more effectively what I wanted to say in the first place.

Deepak
