Data Replication in a RAID 1+0

Hi,

We have a Call Manager 4.2.3 installed on the MCS 7845 platform.

Looking for suggestions regarding

which scsi drives to pull when breaking the mirror whenever there is a failure on any of the parallel scsi disks (top or bottom).

We have RAID 1+0 for 4 drives and have the mirroring set so that you would pull the top or bottom drives on a MCS 7835/7845

Like for e.g if the top scsi disk fails and the bottom scsi disk works fine (in a RAID 1+0 configuration)can we place a blank scsi disk in its place ?What would be the direction of data relication in that case ?Would the data in the bottom disk get relicated onto the top scsi disk or the blank data from the top scsi disk gets relicated onto the bottom scsi?

Any suggestions on this data replication works?

Rgds,

Shams

One drive will be the working on eand the other drive should be seen as either Defunct or Ready. Right-click on the drive and from teh sub-menu, there should be an option to either Rebuild or Set as Hot-Spare (which will auto-rebuild the array).
