Hi,
I have Cisco 8841 phones with unified communications manager version 11.5. I want to block users from accessing the settings button on the phone so that they should not change the network settings. How can this be accomplished?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Ajin.

This is done on a per phone basis or can be a global setting.
If you click on one of your phones, then scroll down to the 'Product Specific Configuration Layout' options, there will be something called 'Settings Access'.
Set this to disabled if you don't want the user to change the settingd.
If you want to set this for all phones, navigate to System > Enterprise Phone Configuration and you will find the settings access option as a global setting.

Hi,
Here you go:
Step 1 In Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration, choose Device > Phone.
Step 2 Specify the criteria to find the phone and click Find or click Find to display a list of all phones.
Step 3 To open the Phone Configuration window for the device, click the device name.
Step 4 Locate the following product-specific parameters:
•PC Port
•Settings Access
Tip To review information on these settings, click the question mark that displays next to the parameters in the Phone Configuration window.
Step 5 From the drop-down list box for each parameter that you want to disable, choose Disabled. To disable the speakerphone or speakerphone and headset, check the corresponding check boxes.
Step 6 Click Save.
Step 7 Click Reset.

Would you happen to know if what is allowed under the restricted setting can be changed? I have some areas that I don't want to be able to change the ring tone but still be able to access the other settings.
