Diversion header shows internal number instead of External

Hello,

I have following setup:

Carrier  <===SIP Trunk===> CUBE <===SIP Trunk===> CUCM

When I try to transfer the external inbound call back to other external number, the Diversion header in SIP message shows internal number (DN of Transferor line or IP Phone) instead of the the External Mask configured on that line.Due to this, the SIP carrier rejects the transfer.

I have enabled the service parameter "Use Original Call Classification for Transferred Calls" but it still it shows the DN in diversion header.

Use Original Call Classification for Transferred Calls:

This parameter determines whether Unified CM classifies a call as internal or external during and after a call transfer based on the classification of the original call that was transferred. Call classification affects call treatment such as ring tone, forward destinations, and caller ID display. Valid values specify True (Unified CM classifies the call based on the original call classification) or False (Unified CM classifies the call as internal because transfers originate from an IP phone which is always internal). For example, when this parameter is set to True and an external (OffNet) call is received and transferred by an internal phone, Unified CM classifies the transferred call as external even during the consultation call. The ring tone that is used for the consultation call is the external ring tone and during the consultation call (including blind transfers), the selection in the Ignore Presentation Indicators (internal calls only) checkbox on the transfer destination's Phone Configuration window ceases to apply because the call is now considered external.
  This is a required field.
  Default:  False

Please help !

Thank you.

Regards,

Nilesh

Change the Redirection Number using VOice Translation Rules on You CUBE from Internal XXXX to Full DID Range.

Refer below example

voice translation-rule 1

rule 1 /.*\(.......$\)/ /905\1/

voice translation-profile ChangeRedirectNumber

translate redirect-called 1

dial-peer voice 10 voip

translation-profile outgoing ChangeRedirectNumber

Other option will be to use  Redirecting Party Transformation CSS

Please rate and mark correct as applicable.

Thanks

Haris

Hi Haris,

Thanks for instant help.

The option-1 would not be viable option as I've thousands of DDI and DNs configured on CUCM. It will be very difficult to manage in future.

The option-2 sounds like an workaround. Please elaborate how we can achieve the desired output.

I am not sure whether it is standard behavior from CUCM as I was expecting an DDI on diversion header similar to QSIG transfer on ISDN.

Thank you.

Regards,

Nilesh

Please follow as below

  1. Create a new CSS and Partition e.g CSS_Redirect, PT_Redirect
  2. Call PT_Redirect in CSS_Redirect
  3. Create calling party transformation patterns: Go to Trnasfomation>Tranfomation Patter>Calling Party Tran formation

==> create matching pattern for your DNs (example XXXX) and check the Use Calling Party's External Phone Number Mask Or Manipulate as required

5.On the gateway under outbound calls uncheck the Use Device Pool Redirecting Party Transformation CSS and also select  Redirecting Party Transformation CSS

6.Save, Reset and Test.
