Hi Guys,
I have a question about the DSP usage on IOS router, I know when media needs to transcode to different codecs (G711 and G729) it need a Xcode to do that, my question is what about transcoding between VoIP ,analog, and Digital data? I alway use the command "show dspfarm dsp active" on VG, but I did see any transcoding.
The scenario of my test is when phone calls out to the PSTN the media will first go to Voice Gateway then go out to PSTN from FXO port or E1 PRI, during this time, I did a "show dspfarm dsp active" on the voice gateway, but I didn't see any DSP channels are active (I'm sure the RTP stream is going to that voice gateway.)
Cisco IP phone-->--rtp-->--VG(E1 PRI or FXO)-->--PSTN
Your reply will be highly appreciated
