We are in a period of transition from Avaya to Cisco CUCM. I'm being asked to explore the possibility of using DX650 phones with video registered to and Avaya SM version 7.3.
Is this possible? Can a DX650 register an Avaya SM?
Any caveats or considerations?
Once we get CUCM up and running phones will be migrated over, but in the meantime all video endpoints (legacy TANDBERG and C, SX, and MX series) will be registered to VCS the DX650 registered to Avaya (if possible) with a trunk between Avaya and VCS.

If the Avaya supports SIP, there is always a possibility, however, there's no way to tell you how/if it will work as you want. Only someone who has tried that, could answer that question.
If they're already migrating to Cisco, they might as well just wait to get CUCM to get the DX650 registered to it with full support of what the endpoint provides.

Thanks I'm leaning to just saying "you shouldn't do it" but was looking for some documentation and/or validation.
