Changing extension is usually a nightmare. I suggest the following:
- Complete the prep work for the new range including route patterns and digit manipulation
- Configure test phones with the new range and make test calls inbound and outbound to match your requirements
- Export the phone/DNs settings using bulk administration
- Modifying the DN numbers in the exported bulk to be in the range 8xxx
- Schedule a downtime, delete all phones with their DNs and import the new file
