Forwarding a Fax Call

Hi everyone,

Looking for some ideas here, perhaps I'm missing something basic! We are trying to forward an incoming fax call to a third party, which is successfully answered but the sending fax device never starts sending the information. Any ideas? Further backstory and information below.

Currently, we receive faxes to an extension (In this example x1000) over ISDN which has a translation pattern to route to a hunt group (Starting on x1500). The extensions in the hunt group all live on a VG248 device with a fax server that PDFs the incoming faxes.

We now wish to use an external provider to receive the faxes. Subsequently, I have attempted to route x1000, using the translation pattern, to the providers number (In this example 0290004000). It successfully answers, starts screaming like a good fax/modem but the sending of the fax never actually occurs.

I'm suspecting the fact we're turning a single call in to a double call leg is causing issues with the sending fax (I.e. it starts handshaking before the receiving end is ready), but I'm unsure where to start and the only other idea I can think of is to have the number forwarded at the Telecom/provider level.

Any ideas?

Wich protocol are you using between CUCM and VOICE gateway?

Can you post the config of your router?
