I've a provider who gives me calls; All the calls (If not, 98% of call) are coming to me as G729 codec.
Once it reaches me, I will send me calls to SIP & TDM for termination. Means, If I am getting 100 calls, I am sending 50 calls to SIP and 50 calls to TDM for termination. What I've seen is, the calls which are terminating via TDM having a better call duration compared to SIP.
Not to forget, Incoming calls till it reaches me are all G729; from there it goes to TDM (PCMA) and SIP (G729);
What can cause people which are terminating on TDM to talk longer than who are on SIP.?
If its packet loss, thts common to both.. because from Service provider (over MPLS) it reaches my network. Packet loss may happen ther which are common for all.
G711 isnt sensitive to packet loss (which happened earlier on G729; Later G729 gets converted to G711)
