H.323 & MGCP on the same Gateway - Is it posible?

Hi,

I have 2x 2951 Gateways each containing 2x VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 cards.

Both cards on Gateway one will be H.323, so no problems there.

However on Gateway two I need one card to be H.323, and the other card MGCP for connection to an Erricsson MD110.

Can this be done?

Yes, you can have both protocols running. If you want you can also have SIP and SCCP.

As long as you tie the endpoints to each protocol there is no problem.

Just make sure 1 pri group has MGCP as control protocol and left the other one withtout service mgcp.

The config the dial-peers and use the 2nd one as port.
