H323 Failover Query

Hi,

I have a query. If I have 2 H323 Gateways in a Route Group in a Route List.

Each H323 Gateway has a T1 connected to the PSTN.

If i were to unplug the T1 from the 1st Gateway, will the outgoing calls failover to the 2nd Gateway?

Currently, when I do this, calls would fail whenever it exits by the 1st gateway.

If I were to shut down the 1st gateway, then all calls would exit the 2nd gateway?

Is this normal?

Is there any workaround so that if the ISDN link is down, calls can failover to the next gateway?

Thanks all.

Eugene

Hi Eugene,

Check out http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_callmg/4_1/sys_ad/4_1_3/ccmsys/accm.pdf pages 36-21 and 36-22.

There's another thread on the cisco-voip list, that was in the archives from earlier this year. It might be helpful too: http://threebit.net/mail-archive/cisco-voip/msg00003.html

If this helped, please rate :)

Hi,

The first link showed the dial-peer failover, which I have in place.

But the 2nd link, the first paragraph hit the jackpot!

Thanks!
