I'm requesting assistance on the following issue. I have an h323 gateway that I'm using in a trunk group with 4 lines.
The issue I'm having is if I unplug the cable from line 1 and place an outbound call, it tries to go out of line 1 and I get a busy signal. I even tried to leave the next three lines plugged in and place a second call while the first one is giving the busy signal without the cable plugged in. The call still tries to go out of that line and never rolls to the other lines.
The only time it rolls is if I physically shut down line 1.
How can I set the router up to bypass that port if the line is disconnected?
thanks,

The FXO hardware cannot detect automatically if it is connected to a line or not. So, you must manually shutdown ports that are part of a trunk-group but not connected.

Thanks for your response. Is there a command that will shut the port down or bypass that port if it doesn't detect dial tone from PSTN?
thanks,

Hi,
If your IOS is later than 15.1.1T
can you try adding this to your fxo voice port config:-
!
voice-port x/x/x
cable-detect
!

Alex
