Hardware Detection Question

Hi dear Cisco forum, I need your suggestions, I have a DL-380-G5 server equivalent to a MSC-7835-H2, it has the Cisco approved HW requirements, but when I ran the HW Detection CD (for OS version 2000.2.4 or 2000.2.7) the following error appears> THIS CD DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS MACHINE. Do I need another HW detection disk? ,Any comments?. Thank a lot.

Hello David,

See the link below. It describes the specifications of the DL380-G5 server as well as points out that for this generation of servers, you need Cisco Windows OS 2000.4.4.

Thanks a lot Michael for your answer, just one more question, I don't have the HW detection for the OS version 2000.4.4 or 2003.1.1. Should I order those CD's to complete my installation or there is another way?.

Hi David,

I believe the install will require the HW detection CD's. I would certainly recommend getting a hold of them.
