Have you seen Cisco Unified IP Phones, either in movies or on television programs? If yes, where have you seen them presented and was the presentation effective in your mind? If yes, how so and if not, why not?

Here are two upcoming movies (trailer links below) where you can see Cisco Unified IP Phones. And two television programs which currently include Cisco Unified IP Phones. Check them out and let us know what you think!

To be fair in the "spotting" of Cisco devices in TV shows, one should note the episode number or original air date. This helps detect how well newer devices are being deployed in the world of TV.I will be on the lookout and report back.

Caught a 7970 in Season 4, Episode 14 ("The Hero in The Hold") of Bones, which aired Feb 5, 2009

Hi Greg,

Great suggestion on the detail! Might I also suggest adding the network that the program aired on - such that others who have interest can keep an eye out in future episodes of the TV series.

How was the 7970 presented in Bones? Did you think it was effective (or not?)

Kirk,

I meant to include that, it is important now that so many shows are in rerun! Bones has had Cisco phones so long I am suspecting somewhere out there a fan site may be able to tell us when they upgraded to color.

How about 24.  Cisco sets all over the place on that show.

Cisco equipment is also shown in 24 (Fox), Hero’s (NBC) and The Office (NBC).  It’s very cool to see this product placement out there in main stream TV shows and movies.

The Unit has featured Cisco IP phones, as well as my favorite show 24.  Both have also featured TelePresence.

I heard for a great source, Joe Schwartz, that WebEx will be featured on the 3/30/09 episode of "24".  Go here to get more info www.cisco/com/go/fox - Can't wait to see if Jack Bauer will actually host his own meeting or be a participant!  Very Cool for Cisco WebEx!

The office is a great example.  Did anyone notice in Season 2 (don't ask me which episode) that the phone had it's message waiting light "moved" to be a blinking light to the left of the soft buttons on Jim's phone?

I am so happy to know that I am not the only phone geek that spots these things!  I am forever telling my husband "oh, look it is a cisco 79xx" and he just looks at me with that glazed over look.

Hello,

Thank you for the discussion post!

The link below is to a portfolio brochure on the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7900 Series.

Feel free to download it and print it you wish. Perhaps it can help your husband understand your enthusiasm?

Or if not, it might provide some information of interest to you!

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/phones/ps379/prod_brochure0900aecd800f6d4a.pdf

Where have you seen the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7900 Series presented by the way? Did you feel the presentation was effective? If so, in what way? If not, why not in your opinion?

Let us know (and if the brochure is of any assistance too!)

Hope this helps..
