I have 8X versions of Call Manager, Unity Connection and Contact Center.
Can I last until the end of this calendar year or need to upgrade ASAP?

You can use it by year end, however you will not be entitled for TAC support once you reach the Last Date of Support as mentioned in the eos/eol documents which is Aug'17 for Ccx, Unity and July'17 for CUCM.

You should upgrade the applications to the latest version prior eos date to get the continued support and better experience.

I'd consider the fact that those will no longer receive any maintenance releases anymore (since August last year), as a reason to upgrade now, before you face something that might make you upgrade to fix it, with no time to plan this properly.
