Hi all,
I just wonder how we can change the Phone Background remotely as an admin. There is a configuration item called "Background Image" under phone configuration but we're not sure how to make it work. We used the URL "tftp://Pub-IPAddress/Desktops/640x480x24/blackberry.png" but it didn't work. We also tried some short URLs which couldn't work either. So what format should it be here?
Please kindly help. Thank you.

Ming Lu

there is plenty of information on how to do this for instance:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-11493
(dont forget to restart the TFTP service on your relevant servers)

Thanks. We have the images uploaded. Sorry that I didn't specify the question clearly. My question was to change the Background Image without touching the phone. We would like to change the Background for the phones from CCM after the images have been uploaded to CCM and can be used from phone preference.

That one is only for 89xx and 99xx, you only type in the name of the image. Ie xyz.png

Thanks. We have the images can be used from Phone Preference on the phones, but we still cannot push the background image configuration from CCM to the phones. Have tried most URLs, names or paths in the Background Image under Phone Configuration.

OK, have you tried manually changing the background to make sure the List.xml, the images, and the path are correct????
If it doesn't work manually, it won't work via CCMadmin.
You need to be running above FW 9.3 for this to work.
And as I already mentioned, all you need is the name of the image.

Hi,
what about using the 3rd party app?
E.g. 2Ring PHONE SERVICES (http://www.2ring.com/NewJuice) can deliver such fuctionality.
Also, the FREE or TRIAL license is avialable, so just try it!
