How to redirect Cellular Voicemail to Unity Voicemail

Hoping someone has tried and succeeded with this.
Call Manager & Unity  10.5.1
Current configuration:

  • 4 digit extensions assigned to users.
  • The 4 digits are the last 4 digits of the DID: example  ( XXX-XXX-1882  = ext 1882)
  • Single number reach is configured so if someone calls XXX-XXX-1882 from the PSTN  OR internally at 1882,  the desk phone and cell phone ( XXX-XXX-2202) will ring simultaneously.  If unanswered on cell, the call continues on 1882 and then to Voicemail on cisco unity
  • **** I provided a specific example using one extension, however, this is the case for all users

Functionality that I am looking to implement

  • Have calls to cellphone that are unanswered go to Unity Voicemail box for users extension rather then to a cell phone VM

CURRENT PROBLEM
Have cellphone VM set to Unity – what should the configuration be? Forward to the users extension or to a voicemail access number?  If it is set to the users extension, The desk phone rings and the cellphone then time out to Unity for VM.  It is too long for the caller to the cell phone.you get the greeting for the user which means that the alternate extension is not being picked up.  If it is set to a voicemail pilot, you get the generic cisco unity welcome message, again not recognizing the alternate extension because the call is actually being called from the outside PSTN.

Has anyone implement a cell phone voicemail redirect to unity with SNR enabled?

Go to the remote destination, and there's a timer that explains you it's exactly for this purpose

Required Field

If the IP Phone's DN already has everything configured for voicemail, you don't need to do anything else. The remote destination will stop ringing, and then the phone will simply follow the CFNA behavior. You'll just have to play with the timer to adjust it properly.

Not quite what I was looking for.  The Mobility or SNR functionality is working fine and the timers are adjusted correctly.

The specific issue I have is trying to replace the voicemail service that is provided by the cell phone carrier with a redirect to our unity voicemail service.  This way there is only one voicemail box to manage regardless of whether the IP Phone number/extension is called or the cell phone number called, all calls would end up in the same unity voicemail box.  Hope this clarifies what I am trying to accomplish.

Basically we want a fully integrated phone system where:

  • A call to an IP phone  DID or extension has Mobility ( Single Number reach ) configured so the cell phone will ring as well, if unanswered it will go to the users VM (voice mail) in Unity and send an email of the VM.
  • VM and email is unified so only 1 mailbox to manage
  • Set the cell phone as an alternate extension so that if the user wants to access their VM box, they call a central number and it recognizes that the call is from a known alternate extension and it routes the call to the users VM box and logs them in to be able to listen to messages, change greetings, etc
  • As well, we want to eliminate VM on a cell phone and have any direct call to the cellphone # that requires voicemail services to be redirected to the users Unity based VM.   This is where the problem is.
