Incoming Analog Trunk Lines Not Terminating (CUCM)

Hi everyone,

I have a client with a few analog trunk lines that physically run into a Cisco 2901 voice router. The problem they're having is that when an incoming call comes in and that caller hangs up the phone before the callee has a chance to pick it up, one of two things happens,

1. If the callee DOESN'T have voicemail active, the call rings indefinitely even after the caller hangs up and will only stop once the callee picks up the phone then hang it up.

2. If the callee HAS voicemail active, the call goes to voicemail after the 19 second no answer timer expires, from there, the line is unreleasable from the callee's phone since it's now stuck inside of the voicemail box.

Is there anything I can do as a workaround even? I know analog lines are sometimes prone to issues like this sometimes and I will try to push them into upgrading their line type, but for now, I'd REALLY appreciate some help on this. I'm actually on-site now at the moment of this post in case that helps someone assist me better, thanks.

Hi Kenneth,

How is your 2901 registered to your CUCM (MGCP, SCCP)?

Can you please post a show run from your 2901?

Thanks

Regards

Carlo

Hi Kenneth,

Which version are you running on your VG?

Did you configure the MGCP port on CUCM as a ground start?

Please let me know

The VG is version 15.2 and I'm about 85% sure the lines are loop start, but I didn't originally set this up and I'm not on site at the moment to confirm. Assuming that it's loop start though, what would be the next thing you'd need to know or have me do?
