Insufficient Cisco Prime Licenses???

So Im the Helpdesk Mgr and Ive been tasked with finding out what this refers to and how we can remedy it. I use Cisco Unity and Call Manager from a purely administrative perspective. What exactly consumes a prime license? What are some tricks to freeing these up? I really appreciate any help.

Log in to PLM [Prime License Manager] and check which license are you running short on.

You can see what  what devices are consuming a set of licenses from CUCM itself. Its under System -> Licensing. There you can see the users' assignment to devices and what devices aren't assigned to any users. Also make sure the licenses are of the correct class. This way you can go through and put one owner to the device they use and usually free up licenses.
