IP phone 7911G not registering with VOIP service

I've turned the SCCP firmware into a SIP firmware, version 8-5-4S; I've created a SEP<macaddress>.cnf.xml file and a DIALPLAN file with all data of this italian voip service (Eutelia/Clouditalia).
The NTP server settings work fine (keeping update exact date and time), so the phone is indeed connected to internet, but the telephony icon on phone display has the "x" of not registering service.

The phone is directly connected to a web access router by Fastweb provider, which has a static public IP, which I've also set in the NAT option. I've also settled port forwarding (UDP) on router' rules for SIP port and some media ports, but it doesn't work.

Someone told me that all these 7911G need a PBX (hardware or virtual) to access to VOIP remote service... is this true? Thanks.

Hi,

How are you trying to register the phone without a call agent?

we have to have a call-agent/PBX to register a phone such as CUCM/CME.

this cisco phone suppots SIP, refer the link below if you are trying to register this 7911 with the 3party PBX.

Thank you!

I hope it will work with Asterisk installed on my WRT-160NL (actually not yet installed... because of Atheros which makes it more difficult to manage)

Hi Vankatesh, I have the same problem and i have my tftp server and the asterisk server on the same subnet, but the phone fails to register with the asterisk server.

I have zoiper on android registering as extensions on the asterisk server without any problems so there seems to be a missing bit of the puzzle.  I have seen youtube vids of people claiming to have it working but they never actually spell out the exact setup and how they got it working.

Can you shed any light on this?

1.  Post your SIPmacaddress.cnf.xml files.

2.  Does your VSP support you doing NAT connection to them?

3.  Does your VSP support ALG?

Hi, I have same problem.

Phone shows registering after it gets the configuration file.

Can someone help me to figure it out what is missing?

I am trying to make it work with Asterisk

firmware version is 11.9-2-1

I will post my xml file bellow, I replaced sensible info with xxx

Thank you in advance.

<natEnabled>true</natEnabled>

Change this to FALSE.

Thank you for your reply Leo.

I tried FALSE False and false

and it still keeps saying registering

I have a spa509 and cp7940 working fine on the same network

Any idea?

This is how it ended

and it still keeps saying registering

Run a debug on the Asterisk and see what's coming in.

Next, go into the status of the phone and find the system messages or status messages.  Find out what the phone is waiting for.

I'm not familiar with the 7911 but the logic should be the same with the rest.

There is nothing coming from 7911 in the Asterisk.

Status message only says:

Check Asterisk Extension:  Is NAT enabled between the phone and Asterisk?
