I have a customer who has many CME’s in the field and over the years have been using 79XX phones with SCCP. Now they are being pushed to 88XX phones using fastrack. I have been researching this and it looks to me lime 88XX phones are not fully supported and while they should be able to make and receive calls many of the features may not work. They are heavy on feature usage.
One snag I see is the reception phone has a sidecar with all the phones in the office on it. Since SIP DN are added in a different way it does not seem possible to have SIP DN appear on an SCCP phone. Is this correct?
My feeling is this is they should wait until the 88xx product and the CME is fully compatible with each other and features between the new and existing phones will work properly before using them. Am I wrong here?
