Hi everybody! I heard that jabber can be used in phone only mode without the need of CUPS, but im wondering if it will work with CUCM8.6? I have seen configuration examples for CUCM 9, but there were some things that are missing in 8.6, like Service Profiles in users configuration. If yes then some config guides would be appreciated.
Thanks

I believe this is what you're looking for?
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/jabber/Windows/9_2/JABW_BK_J6915A59_00_jabber-windows-server-setup/JABW_BK_J6915A59_00_jabber-windows-server-setup_chapter_00.html
It seems to indicate that Jabber is supported on phone mode on 8.6. Please go through the document to make sure.

Thanks! I configured CUCM as described in this guide, Jabber client logins, but im getting problem with registering Jabber to CUCM(Status - Unknown, IP address - Unknown). In "show connection status" of the client it shows this errors:
What kind of CCMCIP configs should i make? In CUCM 9 guide i saw configuration of service profiles, but in my case i don't have such options. Could anyone help with this problem?

Hey,
for CCMCIP you need turn on the "Cisco CallManager Cisco IP Phone Services" at Control Center - Network Services.
for CTI you need turn on the "Cisco CTIManager" at Service Activation.
in addition at the permissions add the "Standard CTI Enabled" group.
do you use extension mobility?

Thanks! CCMCIP service is enabled and runnning, CTIManager is turned on. I don't use extension mobility. IMHO CUCM 8.6 doesn't support phone only mode for jabber without CUP server, correct me if im wrong.

I'm not sure but i think that Jabber supported only presence or webex.
when you install the jabber you see the two options.
Therefore, considering that i think that jabber can't work in mode desk phone of soft phone only with cucm.
read the datasheet of Cisco Cucilync, it similar to Jabber and it can work with cucm only.
actually, Cucilync provides integration between Cisco ip phones and lync of Microsoft, but you can use that without lync.
