Hi, all.

IP Phone 7961 was used for a long time, but I'm advancing a replace to 7962.
When it's being called in 7961, I feel noise because it was used by a network with a lot of jitters. But after exchanging it for 7962, I don't feel noise. Jitter measure buffer specification finite difference of 7961 and 7962 in which I'm interested.

7961: fixed buffer or small buffer ?
7962: Dynamic  Buffer or large buffer ?

Please tell me the person who knows the specification.

Regards,

KN

I don't know if there is an detailed technical description.

You can find some information here:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice-unified-communications/unified-ip-phone-7900-series/7415-telecaster-trouble.html#jitter

[...]79xx phones contain a first-in, first-out (FIFO) queue that acts as an elastic packet buffer. It tries to keep the flow of voice packets to the DSPs constant by playing out the packets with a constant inter packet gap. This helps ensure acceptable voice quality. The 79xx jitter buffer will handle up to two seconds of jitter[...]

Are you running the same phone load version on both phones?

Thank you for your response.

yes, same phone load version (9.3(1)SR1)
