License Migration for CUCM upgrade from version 8.6.2 to version 10.5

Dear Experts.

I am doing an upgrade for CUCM from version 8.6.2 to version 10.5. Due to license migration from DLU to user based licenses.

to obtain the new license we need to run LCU before upgrade and send migration request to cisco licensing team.

the confusion starts when I receive the license file from licensing team. it only covers the utilized DLU. the extra DLU they are not covered.

did any one face the same issue ?

I don't know why cisco change the migration process between 9 and 10, when I upgrade to CUCM 9. it was a migration wizard. it was easily and clearly you migrate the extra DLU.

If you need the unused DLUs included let Cisco licensing know about it, they may ask you to provide all PAKs, POs, etc. if you don't have them just explain that to them and in my experience as long as customer is under UCSS and the numbers under support are close enough Cisco will issue what you desire.
