Licensing help on MCS7816 CUCM Server

how many maximum phones can I have  registered to a single MCS7816 CUCM appliance? what is the cisco recommendation

Also can i have more then the recommended licenses or if you reach a limit the CUCM will refuse to intall licenses above the recommended limit

How can i check the CUWL license utilization on the actual CUCM server?

Reason i ask is that i have purchased 100 cuwl licenses for two 7816 servers (pub + sub). But when i look at the licence unit report on CUCM its showing 2400 units authorized under the phone licence feature menu. Not sure what a 'unit' means or if that is the same a license.

any help will be appreciated

There is nonhard limit set, so you will be able to add more with the risk of over subscribing and causing performance issues.

DLUs are units as different types of phones use different number of units, most typical hard phones use 4 units each, you can see a calc under the licensing section.
