Migrating Phones from Cluster 10.X to Cluster 8.6

Just a quick question..

Assuming that i have 100 phones on Cluster 10.X (ITL is enabled. no CTL)

60 phones need to be moved to Cluster 8.x

Remaining 40 needs to remain as they are mission critical.

How will i move the 60 phones to lower version of MCS 8.6 server?

Will this work?

1. By enabling roll back to 8.0 on enterprise parameter.

2. Restarting only 60 phones. <= will this download empty files?

3. Change TFTP option to new server

Hi,

In addition,  take a note of the firmware in device defaults and make sure that you past the same name in 8.6 cluster (even if the file doesn't exist in this 8.6 cluster). This will avoid any problems in phones trying to downgrade the firmware to match the configured one in 8.6 cluster.
